    1. Lorelei Michaels is a vocalist of a female rock band Her friend Dane give her a Viking armband to wear during one of her performances Once she puts the armband on she travels back a 1000 years Erik Thorolfson rescues her from a slave trader He buys her as his own slave Of course Lorelei is not to happy about this and fights him all the way However Erik is such a sweet guy He can be forceful but he is concerned about Lorelei s well being This story was funny and very sensual I feel the ending wa [...]

    2. This is technically erotica, but I m not going to warn you away from this review, because, while the sex scenes are explicitly written in this book, they are fairly scarce and entirely vanilla This book is rally a good romance with a bit explicit language around the sex scenes There s nothing remotely shocking about them The story, however, is really very good It s a time travel story featuring a female rock singer going back to Viking times The character development was well done, and sex wasn [...]

    3. Be careful what you wish for Got the sex and rock n roll and bit of rough hiking history. This book plays out as a childish game.

    4. I really love time travel books that involve highlanders or in this case Vikings But what attracted me to this particular story was the heroine I loved that it was a female rock star that was sent back into time I loved Lorelei, she was funny and spunky and truly stubborn I hate it when a character is described as stubborn and then the first time they have a chance to display their stubbornness they cave I have a bit of a stubborn streak so I am always annoyed when they cave But I was very satis [...]

    5. Wow Lorelei is really, sincerely, very annoying The whole babbling about modern culture schtick Wow Talk about obnoxious Blech More than once, I legitimately wanted to stop reading Or skip ahead about 20 pages to see whether it would get any better but it never did She only stopped talking during sex, so I found myself wanting Erik to throw her down and bang hereverywherel the time, if only so she d shut up She s an emotional pendulum, and it boggles my mind how she managed to yank her head out [...]

    6. The Gripping Beast is a super fun, un put downable, contemporary time travel romance that is about as believable as time travel romances get Ms Teglia explores some wonderfully gripping themes, including slavery, the power of story, Norse mythology, waiting for true love, and the transcendence of love over vast cultural differences.Lorelie s ability to speak the language of the Vikings is explained in a neat way I totally bought it I loved the undercurrent of clairvoyance the heroine gets these [...]

    7. I usually really like this author, but this one was a big miss for me Lorelei started out as someone I really liked, but once she time traveled she turned into a harpie She was either fighting with Erik or having sex with him, but the worst was when all of a sudden she rolled over and was submissive and not in a good way.I found Erik to be so over the top alpha and not in a good way He was rude, arrogant, and over bearing. The whole time travel storyline wasn t believable for me either.

    8. 3 1 2 starsThis is a much lighter version of Johanna Lindsey Viking series, with time travel added Fast, light read.

    9. Lorelei is a famous singer who is transported back in time by a armband called the gripping beast Erik is a viking from the past When he sees Lorelei at a slave market, he buys her for his own.

    10. Definitely not for under age readers, this is an adult read As erotica goes, this was an excellent read with plenty of steamy scenes and an original plot that was a lot of fun
