    1. Very exciting It definitely is a different feel from Dreaming Death, a different place and time within that world I like the new glimpse at the secrets behind the fortresses, and the bigger overall picture of the world The people of Horn were interesting, and I enjoyed getting to know them It does end at a huge cliffhanger, but if you can t wait, the coming soon chapter afterwards answers the biggest concern.

    2. Now I am well and truly hooked I thought I would just pick up this book out of idle curiosity since I enjoyed the main book of Dreaming Death the first Palace of Dreams Novel I forgot how Cheney takes intimate, every day situations with a hint of mystery and makes them into compelling reading where you are totally and completely in for both sides of the main couple. So here s the weird partt much happens in this book Yet somehow, in the depiction of every day life, the deciding who guards who, th [...]

    3. When Amal, also known as Lady Horn, and her guards find an intruder, he seems harmless enough Lost, even She takes him under her wing and as we follow his acceptance into their society readers learn that this is not exactly the fantasy book we are expecting First and most of all, the reader along with the newcomer, Dalyan, want to know why their Fortress is so important I ll give only one thing away it turns out this is a science fiction book, too, and the reason Amal is known as an oath breaker [...]

    4. I liked Lady Horn a lot, and the budding relationship between her and the lost man her patrol rescues on the glacier makes a good tale The world building fascinated me, especially as it s mostly hidden from the reader and revealed in drips and drops, following Daylan s discovery of things The author s forward doesn t help a new reader much, at least it didn t help me, but I think it s intended for readers who have enjoyed other books set in this world There are a few spots where sentence structu [...]

    5. This is a lovely winter time comfort read This is in the same world as Dreaming Death but feels simpler and sweeter It starts with a man nearly dying on a glacier and later assassins make an appearance, but the story is about relationships and personal discovery than action The main characters have depth without a lot of added angst and there are nice tidbits to make the side characters interesting too The only negative is the cliff hanger ending hopefully the sequel will be out soon

    6. Oathbreaker The world of the Larossans, Anvarrids, and now the Horn, had its beginning in Dreaming Death This new view into another of the Six Families does not disappoint A well crafted story, it is intriguing and exciting I m anxiously awaiting the next entry
